Mike said okay to share, so here's his email, which is pretty much what Roger summarized above:

"After some women decided to make  a U turn 60 feet in front of me. Going 60mph (I got the I didn't see him excuse) someone still wants me on this earth.Thank you GOD! Broken pelvis, left elbow, right wrist, right femur. Had 3 surgeries so far.Looking at 5 to 6 months rehabilitation. But I still can think & talk! I have faith I WILL RIDE again."

Here's wishing Mike a speedy recovery.

Hey Mike,
Good to see that you can still KEEP DA WHEELS ROLLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the pics on FB.  The springer may have to be converted into a chopper.  I wish you a speedy recovery.

Just received my rims back from "The frame man" in Sacto. The Before picture:

If the damage occured under the spoke, then those rims would be trash.  It's good that he was able to fix it.

The after picture :

I think this is the result of the primary impact of the log and the subsequent damage of riding the rest of the 120 miles homes on bent rims.

Mike, we're all pulling for you and hoping your progress is rapid.

BTW, if you send a message and don't get a quick response, it's because we don't use this site for ride announcements/planning any more and a lot of us don't visit it frequently.
